As I was following the recent story on MTPUNDIT about Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer’s election tampering, I remembered the heavy handed antics he pulled during the 2007 Montana state Legislative session. Even those on his own team were feeling the heat: Senator Laslovich (D) had nothing nice to say regarding Brian Schweitzers bullying tactics, and Representative Sinrud (R) on the other side referred to the governor’s methods as “Nixonesque, Stalinistic.”
Former Governor Judy Martz remarked that Brian Schweitzer ”believes that you can mask your personal insecurities by acting like a political bully.” Is that behavior we should expect from the chief executive of Montana? Perhaps with the latest revelations coming to light, we should encourage Senator Laslovich (D) and Representative Sinrud (R) to spread the word about the Governor’s actions during his first 4 years in office.
Maybe the bullying started with the e mail that Budget Director David Ewer put out… or perhaps it was the Democrat House leadership’s white paper ? I’m not sure, but it is evident that no matter which Democrat happens to be beating the drum, Brian Schweitzer is the one directing the orchestra.
Some in Democrat circles whisper about the places Brian Schweitzer is going places after his little stint in Montana. I certainly hope not. Experience should have taught us that Governor Brian Schweitzer needs to be contained.
